August 30, 2019. In case someone hasn't picked up the individual Nazz CDs, you can now buy them all in a single package. This three CD set includes the three original albums along with bonus tracks included in the not so recent past. The Complete Nazz.
February 9, 2018. Evolution: From Woody's Truck Stop To Nazz is being released. It will include the five tracks with Woody's Truck Stop and 13 alternate demos from Nazz.
November 12, 2006. That didn't take long. I just picked up Nazz Nazz (including Nazz III The Fungo Bat Sessions), the new 2 CD set of both the second and thrid albums with 18 bonus tracks. Most are alternative versions, including some tunes you many not have heard before.
November 9, 2006. Nazz and Nazz Nazz have been rereleased with bonus tracks. I just picked up Nazz and looking forward to getting (and detailing on my site) Nazz Nazz.
July 18, 2005. I just noticed that the ezBoard message board that I had set up for this web site had been deleted. Since restoration of the deleted conference is only available to subscribers to their service, and since the activity was relatively light, I not planning on looking for another message board. If you do think a message board is worth while, or you have a message board that you like, let me know and I may promote it here. As always you can contact me here.
November 1, 2004. I just picked up the Nazz vs. Toddzilla CD. Yet another compilation of studio demos and alternate takes. What makes this collection nice, is the inclusion of two videos, and 100+ images (magazine articles, magazines articles, band photos, ...).
October 19, 2003. Robert "Stewkey" Antoni is making music again. T R Bazaar has a DVD of a recent performance.
March 10, 2001. It looks like I may have been premature in moving to a new web hosting site. I just found out that whenever Tripod.com is having hardware or software problems with their servers, they put up a message for the webmaster that their site is in violation of terms, and the web site has been deleted (instead of a message about system problems and try again later). Anyway, I believed Tripod.com when they said they deleted my account, so I will be moving, and making chromeoxide.com my new home on the web.
March 10, 2001. As long as I am moving my entire site, I decided to make a few changes to the layout of the individual pages, and the web site in general, including (but not limited to) I removed the counter, and moved the listings of mirror sites to the bottom of the page, ...
March 6, 2001. Sometime between March 1 to March 5, 2001 Tripod deleted my account/web site. The last stats Tripod gave me were 9,000+ visitors per month. Since my site is so popular, I have decided to keep it going, in spite of this major setback. But rather than trying to build up another free web site, and possibly deal with this problem again, I decided go with CommandLine.net to host the new chromeoxide.com.

October 16, 2000. I was just contacted by a Richard Blake, a friend of Carson Van Osten, so in the near future I am hoping to have updates on what the individual members are up to, as well as some additional information on what has happened in the past.
October 31, 1999. There used to be a complete listing of all the bands featured on this site at the bottom of each page on this site. The complete band list has now been moved to the Site Map.
Back in June 1997 when I started this site, the index at the bottom of the page seemed like a good idea. Due to the amazing growth of this site, I now think that the Site Map is a better way to do it.
I will continue to list the featured band of the month at the bottom of each page on this site.
December 3, 2002 CD Now is undergoing changes, and asked that ALL links be removed.
October 28, 1999 I signed up with CD Now.
October 22, 1999. The Chrome Oxide Music Collector Pages web site hit the big time! And I didn't even know it.
Tripod stats showed that this web site had more than 4,000 unique visitors last month (September 1999). Because of that, Tripod has increased my web space from 11mb to 50mb.

Nazz, was a band from Philadelphia, PA that first formed in July 1967. They got a recording contract in February 1968. They recorded three studio albums. (Or maybe two. The material used for the second (Nazz Nazz) and third (III) albums was originally intended to be a double album. However, they decided against that.) Todd left the band in mid 1969 (after the release of the second album), and since there was enough material in the vaults, the third album was released.
While Nazz were heavily influenced by the 1960s British invasion, their sound also had touches of psychedelia, power pop, ...
And now for a bit of trivia:
The Nazz took their name from a Yardbirds b-side The Nazz Are Blue.
Todd and Carson were in a band together Woody's Truck Stop before meeting up with Stewkey and Thom to form Nazz. Five demo tracks from that period are now commercially available: That's Right-You're Wrong, Why Is It Me, The Times Have Changed, She Must Be Blind and Rock Me Baby.
The Nazz records were released on the Screen Gems label, which was named and created to only release anything the Nazz might record.
The Nazz used to like to play Jumping Jack Flash - Rolling Stones and Tighten UP - Archie Bell and the Drells during their sound check as warm up tunes.
The recent CD 13th and Pine, is named after the address in Philadelphia where Carson and Todd lived together before they formed the Nazz.
The band's home base was New York, but they came to Los Angeles to record their albums.
One evening when Nazz was opening for Poco in Texas, Stewky got arrested, and when Thom tried to bail Stewky out, he got arrested as well. Fortunately, they both ended up getting out in time to play for that evenings show.
After Todd Rundgren left the band, Stewkey and Thom joined a band with Rick Neilsen. And they would play clubs using either Nazz or Cheap Trick or Fuse as their name. Ready I Am, a song they used to play in these days, later became part of set list for the eventual verion of Cheap Trick.
What are the band members up to now?
Robert "Stewkey" Antoni was in Elizabeth before Nazz, and went on to work with Fuse (which later became Cheap Trick), ??? Was a room mate of Peter Tork (Monkees) in the early 1970s. Robert now owns the master tapes of all the Nazz recordings. And Robert has been releasing some of the Nazz outtakes/alternate takes on vinyl and CD.
Of the four members, Todd Rundgren seems to have gone on to the most success after leaving the band. Some of Todd's current projects include making music for himself (solo, Utopia, ...), producing music for himself and others (Grand Funk, Hall & Oats, Meat Loaf, Tubes, ...), and writing software.

In 1971 Carson Van Osten was living in the San Fernando Valley. Carson went into animation (starting with drawing cartoons), and he moved up the ranks over the years to become an executive, before recently retiring.
Thom Mooney was in Munchkins before Nazz, and has gone on to work with Fuse (which later became Cheap Trick), Curtis Brothers, Paris (Bob Welch and Glenn Cornick) 1976, Tattoo 1976, Danny O'Keefe 1978, John Hiatt 1979, David Werner 1979, Noel & The Red Wedge (Mitchell Froom, Frankie Banali) 1982, David Ball 1983, Cindy Bullens, Rita Coolidge 1983 - 1984, (turned down the chance to work with Elton John while working with Rita Coolidge), Tom Peterson (Cheap Trick), Jimmy Buffett 1987, Free Fair/Shuffle (lasted about 3 years-only released one 45-Put Myself Together-after which the singer Rick Fitts became an actor), Tom MacLear, Ken O'Malley, ...

Back in October 1999 I put up links to CD-Now so that visitors could easily link to the related band pages and instantly see which items were still in print/available for purchase. CD-Now no longer has that option. For the moment I am putting in Amazon.com search boxes. Amazon.com doesn't easily allow for links to individual band pages in the same way that CD-Now used to. So, instead of me being able to create direct links, I have put up the Amazon.com search box instead. So you can still go to a page with the various bands products, buy you now need to go through a search box.
